Best Dual Flush One Piece Toilets Selection

If you are looking to replace your toilet, it can be a really confusing process. If, like me, you do not know much about this subject, it can seem like a somewhat daunting task.

I searched online and I came across  Sanitation Ventures. This is a really helpful and informative website and helped me decide which toilet was best for my bathroom.

I thought I would review two of the best-selling models for you, to help make your choice easier.

TOTO Ultramax II

  • WaterSense approved high efficiency
  • Universal height for maximum comfort: 16-1/8-Inch rim height, seat height 17-1/4-Inch, tank width 16-9/16-Inch, tank height 28-3/8-Inch
  • Double Cyclone flush technology, Elongated bowl
  • Powerful, quiet flush every time
  • SanaGloss: Super smooth, ion barrier glazing cleans your toilet bowl with every flush

The Facts:

The ion barrier helps to keep your toilet clean as the ceramic is specially coated. Basically this means that it is self-cleaning. With lives being as busy as they are, less cleaning is always a good thing.

The installation was quick and simple; it took an hour for me to do this, with the help of a professional plumber. The toilet always flushes no matter how much paper you throw into the bowl (a handy thing if your kids are like mine and make a game of flushing paper). It looks streamlined compared to the two piece. As it is a one-piece model it has less ridges to catch dust, so this also keeps external cleaning to a minimum. The toilet is universally sized so would fit into any bathroom. The seating position is higher than the industry standard, so it can feel a little strange at first, but after a while you will get used to it, the position becomes comfortable and you can sit back normally.

The TOTO Ultramax looks good, it looks very modern and is a great addition to any bathroom.

The large soil pipe has a diameter of 2-1/8inch which allows more waste to exit, stopping any blockage that may occur.

The seat and the cover use an intelligent hinge mechanism that causes them to close quietly and softly.  A great feature, again, if you have kids or someone who always slams the toilet seats.

Benefits/Disadvantages

This is a very modern, beautifully designed model.  It keeps clean easily, so saves you time, has a soft close toilet seat and is very comfortable to sit on. It does take a while to come from America so don’t be in a hurry when you order it.  However, if you can, it is worth the wait.

TOTO Eco Soiree

  • Double Cyclone Flushing system
  • Decorative one-piece with skirted design and high profile tank
  • Elongated front bowl with SoftClose seat
  • Chrome trip lever
  • Length 28-1/8-Inch, Seat Height 17-1/4-Inch, Tank Height 27-3/4-Inch, Tank Width 17-3/4-Inch

The Facts

It features a double cyclone flush: two nozzles use water more efficiently for a better rim and bowl wash and result in less trapped dirt and bacteria and less cleaning. The double cyclone also uses less water, hence ‘eco’ in the name. It also has a soft close seat.

Benefits/Disadvantages

Environmentally friendly because it uses less water.  It looks good in the bathroom with a sleek and modern design. Not as quiet as some toilets, the flush is ok but the fill system makes a dripping noise. Larger than some models. Again, ships from America, can be a pain if you are not close to the US. So it can take a while to arrive. Easy install under an hour with a professional.

Conclusion

Truthfully, I didn’t know there was so much choice out there. The two aforementioned toilets are best sellers and they sell well for a reason.  Their features are modern and up to date, as is the design, they both save water, are easy to clean or self-clean and simple to use.  Both models have a flush designed to use less water, which helps the environment and will save you money. Obviously, your choice is personal and depends on your needs but I would advise, if you can and your budget can stretch to one of these models, I would certainly take the plunge.
